Moral Support

My friend Lisa came in today for waxing and a facial. Her eyebrows just needed a cleanup, and this time I followed the protocol. They looked really good and she was really pleased. Then I waxed her lip, and that went well too. See what happens when I pay attention and take my time?!! Afterward, I gave her a facial for dry skin. It’s my favorite facial to get and to give. When I looked at her skin in the skin scope, she was very surprised to see how dry she was–she always thought she had oily skin and used products made for that. When I looked at Lisa’s skin under the Wood’s lamp, I told her I didn’t see any oil. I needed to exfoliate with this facial, so I made sure this time to avoid the areas I just waxed. I also did a lip and an eye treatment–my first. The whole treatment couldn’t have gone better, and I was so happy! I wish every treatment I do goes like this!

Later that afternoon, the girl I work with who was here a couple of weeks ago came in for a bikini wax. I was going to do it, but Colleen hadn’t done one yet, so when she asked if she could do it, I said yes. As soon as I said yes, she panicked! :) I told her I would come in the room with her and help her if she wanted, as long as everyone involved was comfortable with that. I’m sure Colleen will have an entry in more detail about it, but she did really good. She thinks she did a terrible job, but she didn’t! She had a little trouble with pulling the first strip just like I did, but the rest went well. It’s funny how when you pull the strip and you hear it, you know right away if it was a good one or not.

Colleen just needed the moral support, and I’m glad I was there to give it. She would’ve done a good job anyway. I’m grateful we have each other at school. It makes going through stuff like this a little bit easier!

I prefer hard wax for bikini lines. It’s gentle and you can reapply.

Shelley: We do have hard wax at school, but I’ve never tried it. How do you feel about hard wax for other areas, such as arms and legs?

    Sandra:
You can also use hard wax for underarms, and face waxing. I do not use it for brow arches, however, because I don’t feel like there is enough control. I would not use it for large areas-you would just use too much-not feasible.
