A Good Night!

Last night in class we finished our very last chapter. We still have some tests to take, but theory is pretty much done. I can’t believe it! I also can’t believe I have three months left of school. These last nine months sure went by fast!

When we were done with the chapter review for our upcoming test, Colleen took the opportunity to ask our teacher if we could see a body wrap demo after our test next week. Then a couple of the girls asked about seeing a demo on another treatment. Our teacher said yes to both and  if there were any other demos we wanted to see to let her know. Now that we were done with theory on Tuesdays, we’ll have some extra time. Our teacher also said she wanted to go over makeup with us again and how to apply eyelashes again. We started asking her questions about how to apply eyelashes, and I really hope she knows we really are there to learn. After what happened last Saturday, I sometimes have my doubts. I hope that Tuesday nights will now be our demo night instead of having us just sit around for 3-1/2 hours doing nothing.

I think I’ll make a list of all the demos I’d like to see. Even easy ones, like a lip treatment, because it’s not that I can’t follow the protocol for it, I want to see the correct way to do it.  Just because we’re done with theory doesn’t mean our learning is over! I left class last night feeling pretty optimistic about my last three months there and excited about seeing the demos.  All in all it was a good night!

    Dear Sandra,
demos are great, but remember: while you are in school you can practice all that “free” time. Don’t sit around: draft anybody to get anything done; ask everybody, if they have a need of waxing of any part of their body. Suggest to have a facial. Look at their eyebrows and see if they need improvement. If nobody needs anything exercise performing casual makeup on each other - make yourself confidant. The more you practice, the quicker you’ll succeed.

Svetlana: You are absolutely right! They don’t usually let us practice on theory nights, even if we don’t have theory anymore, but maybe they’ll start letting us. It would be a perfect night to practice because we won’t get kicked out of a room because someone has a client and needs the room or we get a client and have to take them.
