Mastering Microderm

Tuesday and Thursday this week at school were very productive evenings for me. Tuesday night, we all partnered up and practiced body treatments and waxing. I got a couple waxing sign offs, which I really need so that was good. Thursday night, I was first on the rotation and got a woman who wanted a basic facial with customized moisturizer. After taking a closer look at her skin, I decided to customize the moisturizer with products that hydrate and de-clog the pores, and I also used a product with anti-aging ingredients. I told my client what we had mixed up for her and she was very pleased since we were hitting on all of her areas of concern. She was a very nice woman and gave me a great evaluation, so I was happy!

After I got done with her, I took a client that wanted microderm. I haven’t practiced microderm a whole lot, but I did do it on a client last week, so I felt much better about it. The lady asked me if I was good at this treatment and of course I told her yes! She said the last time she came in she had a very good experience with the treatment and a good esthetician. I know the girl who did it for her last time, and she is supposed to be very good, so I felt like I had to do a really great job, as well.

I cleansed her skin, dried it thoroughly and did my two passes with the crystals. Everything went really, really well. I am getting much more comfortable working with the wand, and I am learning how to hold the client’s skin to get the best results. After the crystals, we did a hydrating cleanse and mask and followed that with her serums, sunscreen and moisturizer. This client also gave me a good evaluation and said she would come back to me. I love nights like that.
