On Saturday, I had my first male client that I didn’t actually know personally. I have had guy friends and my boyfriend come into my school for treatments, but I have never given a facial to a male stranger before! I know it might sound weird, but I was really nervous to have my first male client. He was a very nice man and the treatment went well. We did a Men’s Corrective Facial with a hand and elbow treatment. He has psoriasis, so the hand and elbow treatment was beneficial to his dry patches.
He came in with his wife, and she also wanted a treatment, but she was going through chemotherapy, and we unfortunately could not perform anything on her unless she could provide a doctor’s note. We felt bad, but it’s just a school rule. She understood. She also asked if she could come in the room with us while I did her husband’s facial, and I said yes, only to find out that we are not allowed to have another person in the room. I didn’t mind either way.
The facial I gave my client was really nice. You give the client a first cleanse with a decongestant cleanser, and then a second cleanse with a more exfoliating cleanser. There is an enzyme mask with steam, extractions, a massage, a
mask and then moisturizer. And the hot towels get infused with a sandalwood aromatherapy scent, which was really nice.
Surprisingly, once I got started, I wasn’t very nervous at all. I am happy that I’ve gotten the chance to work with so many different clients at school.
